Community Outreach: It's My Park Day
School Sustainability Initiatives
- Staff members came together to share classroom supplies, books, décor, and teaching materials. This program helped give many items a second life instead of letting them go to waste.
- The Shared Table provides students with a designated place to leave unopened, uneaten food and drinks for others to enjoy. This initiative helps reduce food waste while supporting classmates in our school community.
- Hosted by Savannah and Olivia, our Green Team Podcast has provided students with a creative platform to share ideas, raise awareness, and inspire others to take action toward a more sustainable future. Through engaging discussions and student-led conversations, members explored environmental topics such as recycling, reducing waste, and conservation. Members also focused on sustainability initiatives happening right within our school community. In January, the team released Episode 2: Global Warming and what's happening with Earth.
Eco-Art & Campus Displays
- Located in the Hall of Kindness, our student-created Green Team bulletin board has become a vibrant display of the important sustainability projects and initiatives taking place throughout our school community. Designed and maintained by students, the board highlights environmental awareness, recycling efforts, conservation tips, school projects, and ways everyone can help make a positive impact.
Recycled Bottle Cap Art Mural
- Students combined creativity and sustainability through a collaborative bottle cap art mural project! Using recycled bottle caps collected from the school community, students designed colorful murals that transformed everyday waste into meaningful works of art. This project encouraged environmental awareness while giving students the opportunity to express their creativity, work together, and demonstrate how recycled materials can be reused in innovative ways.
Moss Wall Art
Thanks to a $5,000 grant from the Office of Energy & Sustainability, students showcased their creativity and environmental awareness by designing preserved moss artwork to display throughout classrooms and school spaces.
- Each unique piece featured distinct themes and designs, bringing natural elements indoors.
-
The installations help create calming and visually engaging environments for both students and staff.
-
Through this hands-on project, students explored sustainability, artistic expression, and the use of natural materials in creative ways.
