The MS 74 Green Team is a student lead organization comprised of students from 6th, 7th and 8th grade who are interested in helping the school become more environmentally friendly. The team will meet Thursdays from 2:20 pm- 3:20 pm in room 112 to discuss ways to make the school more "green" through improving recycling efforts, reducing waste, and beautifying the school landscape. Students not only earn service credit, but also learn how to become better stewards of the Earth.
Ms. J. Posada
Thanks to an Ecorise grant that was written by our very own students on the Green Team, every single student and staff member got a reusable water bottle. Students also designed and created labels so students can write their names on them in case they lose them. the goal is to divert 60 lbs of plastic from landfills each school year!
Members of the Green Team promoted energy conservation to the prospective families who came to the MS74 Open House. Giveaways included energy conservation stickers that they created, plants, brochures on recycling, and recyclable totes.
The Green Team are running several recycling drives to prevent items from heading to the landfills.
Lego Drive- (now til March 28th) All loose pieces of Legos will go back to the company and they create sets for kids in need.
