Welcome Parents & Students

Dear TEAM74 Families -

Happy November! As I write this, it's a very MILD November but I'm sure the temps will cool quickly enough, so while it's lovely and in the 70s, I hope you and your family are taking advantage of the outdoors as much as possible. My family has been enjoying a lovely & relatively warm football season - our son started high school this year & made his team - that means every weekend we've been on the sidelines, alternately cheering him on and cringing when he's been tackled. What did I say before - parenthood is not for the faint of heart? It is so true! LOL

The hallways of MS74 are full of excitement and joy. The kids have settled in and are excited for the SO elections, upcoming winter sports season, club activities, and of course - the holiday season! Students come to my office to print a document, ask a question, use my meeting table as a space to work on something quietly, or just chat and ask for a piece of candy from my candy bowl. I love it! I welcome their questions and love that they just pop in to say hi!

I, like the students, feel energized by and am excited for the upcoming Holiday season. For the first time since the Pandemic, we are hosting Thanksgiving at our house - one of my most favorite traditions. We won't have the typical 42 gathered round this year, but 28 of our nearest and dearest are joining us and I couldn't be happier! Our daughter is flying in from school Wednesday and returning Friday to make her classes, but she will be with us on Thanksgiving and that's all that matters.

I hope that whatever your traditions are, you're able to celebrate the season honoring your traditions in the company of your loved ones. For my part - Thanksgiving is all about my loud, crazy, loving family crammed around several tables, with more food than we can eat, and grateful hearts. I wish you and your loved ones a beautiful November and a lovely Thanksgiving!

All my best,
