Dear TEAM74 Families -
Hello and Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year!
As a parent, a parent volunteer, and a former educator I strongly believe that the family-child-school relationship is incredibly important for academic success and a child's social-emotional well-being. Like you, my children attended public school in Queens. Throughout their academic journey the relationships I developed with their teachers, administrators, and Parent Coordinators led to my decision to become a Parent Coordinator. A Parent Coordinator wears many hats but my primary focus is supporting you, your child, and your family to the best of my ability while you are a member of TEAM74 and BEYOND!
My children are now in high school and college and, between the two of them, I have experienced much of what you are going through. The middle school years are wonderful - full of opportunities, challenges, and tremendous growth! Please know my door is always open if you would like to talk or if you have any questions or concerns.
Speaking of which, I am VERY excited to announce that over the summer we created a "Family Welcome Center" within my new office on the first floor, complete with computers and printers for your use. Should you have trouble with your NYCSA/ My Schools account, you may come in person to the Welcome Center and together we will get you back online! You are always welcome in this space; should you wish to talk to me in person or just stop by, please do! Your child is always welcome here too!
Looking ahead to Fall, I will be hosting small-group "Inside TEAM74 Tours" for parents throughout September. It's a wonderful way to put a face to many names while getting an inside glimpse of a typical day. Please keep an eye on this page for sign up information.
Speaking of the Fall - if you have a topic you would like discussed at a Parent Workshop this year, please send me an email! I'd love to get your feedback and tailor my workshops to fit your needs and wants.
I hope you have a lovely remainder to the summer and look forward to an exciting and wonderful school year where we may get to know one another better!
All my best, JC DiCicco
